On Saturday we went to a mini dairy goat clinic in Dublin, Tx put on by a friend of ours Suzie Minke with Milk Maid Ranch. We went mainly to sell some goats and support Suzie. But we went away with our heads full of so much we learned.

I learned the importance of copper bolusing our goats. I’m definately going to start doing that and adding Bo-se to help the copper absorbtion. We learned what the judges look for in the dairy goats and also what we should look for when purchasing dairy goats.

Scott also got some hands on with a great lady named Sunni. Sorry I forget which organization she was from but wow was she pouring information on us. Interesting stuff but I didn’t understand all of it. But which nutrients bind or help absorbtion of others was very interesting along with what is a correct udder. Scott even will get continuing education credits for going.

Oh and a rep for IDGA was there and I found out I can register our La Manchas and our mini mancha with them as native upon appearance. They would just be rated as grade quality. I’m very happy to know that cause there is a trend toward mini manchas right now.

Sorry for the picture quality it was kinda dark in the barn and a little dusty
