Ice Storm Day 4

front yard

This morning we awoke to see beautiful large flakes of snow falling down. So now we have about 2 inches of snow on top of 3 inches of ice. Still no water. The guy that

owns the well says that the pump is running but the pipes are frozen. I really want a shower.  The kids are going stir crazy. But its not enough for them play in and the ice under the snow makes everything dangerous. The closed schools in Waco today so Scott doesn’t have to go to work Thank God! We are down to 17 gallons of water so we are trying to wait as long as we can to attempt to go to town to get more. The animals are holding up well. The goats even came out to eat some hay since the sun poked its head out of the clouds.

Madalyn sledding with her dog Toby

At noon today one of  the neighbors came over and asked if the kids could go sledding on the dam by our pond. What a great idea! So all the neighborhood kids headed out with a sandbox turtle lid. They had great fun. Most of the kids had never been sledding before. By 2:00 the snow and ice were melting. YEAH! Scott headed to town and got more water, some goat wormer and a suprise of some hamburgers. We don’t eat out much so it was a real treat.

4:40pm Nala had triplets! And Shortcake and Lis-il are bagged and have a little discharge. I have a feeling we are in for a long night. Scott is headed to the store to get another heat lamp and some more extension cords. I’ll post pictures as soon as they are dried off and standing.

(Stay tuned for more updates throughout the day)
